scholarship thing

This is the photo that i would submit to the scholarship thing. I didnt ps much out of the image because i believe the "stuff" came into play with the meaning. The meaning of this photo is my purpose in life. I dont know what it is. I dont know where im going next year. what i want for a career. basically anything about my plan i dont know yet. I just know that its going to be very difficult and i need to be fearless of what it is. The railing is suppost to be my path throughout my life and tony is trying to do a handstand. The handstand represents my difficulties to come. all of the other "stuff" on the sides is nessisary to try and distract me from my future path. some effective. some not. hopefully i dont fall.

andy g photos stuff

this photo is a couple sprouts off of a pine tree. i placed them in the snow to make it look like a tree itself. i did this because it shows the importance of the little things. with out them there would be no tree. slightly out of focus though.

again this is some leaves and dry grass put together to look like a tree. carrying the same message that the little details are just as important as the bigger picture.

This is the last andy g photo. its the same three pine needle sprouts however i took time to remove most of the "stuff" around the sprouts. making them the main and only focal point.

final summative

This photo is of tony in a martial arts uniform performing a simple stall on a railing. this stall takes alot of abdominal strength. because of this i thought it was nessisary to blur the outter edges to give the feeling of stress. The railing was elevated giving it the feeling of fearlessness.

This is tony again in the uniform climbing up a gurder in a gym. i put a layer of smoke on the background to give it a murky mysterious feeling. again with the hight of tony off of the ground gives him the feeling of fearlessness and power.

Lastly again tony performing a stunt. this was suppose to give the feeling of an elevation while being in complete danger which again gives him the fearless feeling.

Artist statement: What are your goals in the future in regards to photography?
A: I would like to continue taking photos as a hobby. I dont think i have the best eye for fine arts however i enjoy a photo that has meaning behind it. anyone can find something beautiful and take a quick snapshot of it however i enjoy feeling the message/ passion behind it. i would like to discover how to do this myself in the future.

surrealism

This photo was to show the different personalities a single person could have. How many masks one can show... can be... the purpose of this picture is to ask which one is he really. which one am i really? To be so many different people would exhaust someone way more than being one complete person.

This photo took along time... and i didnt have enough patience...

This is the final surrealism photo. it has the same purpose as the first two but has a glow on the person as he fades away. slowly finding which one he is... finding contentment is a long process.

Color

This photo was chosen for color because of the blue. the blue was reflecting off of the table and presents a glare of light. i actually like this. The blue is there however because of how reflective the object is it presents it with a problem. the blue, however beautiful it is cannot be focused on because of the reflection. the true beauty of blue is intangible...

This photo is again because of the blue. i had to erase the texture in the wall to create more movement. the blue in tony's hat and shirt created a vibrant color which in turn i changed his eye color to match.

This photo has no color. However i chose it for the color assignment for a couple reasons. The absence of color is the best way to reconize color. When watching a black and white movie one gets annoyed because theres no color. When working tech nobody gets noticed until something goes wrong. color is much like this. Its absence is just as powerful as its precense.

macro

this photo is a close up of my 1997 skidoo formula 3's rear suspension after a long ride on the trails. as one can see its completely iced over. you can see the thick texture of the ice while still seeing the skid frame. and its suppose to make a feeling of cold, hence all the ice.

This is a photo of my skid frame. i did a close up of this because all of the cuts in the paint are visible which gives the photo texture. the yellow bar creates movement due to its brightness and contrast with the rest of the image while it runs across the image. and the hole in the top right is the focal point

This is a wall. The focal point is the reflection of light running down towards the camera. the bumpyness of the wall adds its own texture while the outline of bricks add movement.

This is just a bunch of wires which i took a picture of. I couldnt determine a focal point due to the aggressive movment created by the colors and wires. they are in groups but have no patteren to where they meet and where they go. because of this i like this image. the chaos of movement creates a balanace.

abstract art

This abstract photo is of a sandal on a pool deck. i was at work and i liked the pattern on it. it shows the contrast between the white deck and black sandal. the silver lines on it create a focal point and some movement.
This is a picture of my track. the teeth are the focal point because they are the most in focus. the rust on the right creates some movement while the sunlight on the teeth pull it back, creating balance.

This picture was made abstract by zooming in on a couch and tilting the camera at an angle which changed where up and down were. i got this idea from all the circles on the couch. these circles made me dizzy when i took a normal siloutte of the couch but needed to add more for it to be abstract.

This picture is of a grated floor at my work. i work at the ymca as a lifeguard. i wouldnt normally look at the ground but the grated floor mat digs into peoples feet. the bumps create a pattern and in this photo create lines which in my oppinion create movement and balance
